Qatar: New App Introduced For Healthcare Event

A new mobile app has been created for the 7th Middle East Forum on Quality and Safety in Healthcare, delivered by Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) in collaboration with the Institute for Healthcare Improvement.

The app aims to engage a larger audience of healthcare professionals by leting them to interact not only with one another but also with speakers and partners.

It lets delegates to post questions, photos, insights, and learnings to an activity stream. Through the activity stream, delegates can engage with each other, speakers, and presenters through a comment feature.

Forum attendees are also able to use the app to identify networking opportunities by browsing through the names and roles of delegates and adding the people they wish to engage with to their ‘Favourites’ list.

The app’s private messaging feature can further simplify networking opportunities as it can be used to contact a delegate, partner, or presenter to ask questions or arrange a meeting.

Such features are of particular advantage when engaging with the Forum’s partners, involving the Ministry of Public Health, the Primary Health Care Corporation, Sidra Medicine, WISH, and Qatar University, among others.

“Technological features such as the ME Forum App and the Knowledge Zone are wonderful ways to engage both the hearts and minds of the professional community who come together to learn, teach, be motivated, and hopefully have fun in the process,” expressed Ali al-Khater, chief of corporate communications at HMC.

With over 20 exhibitors, the interactive Knowledge Zone is developed to engage and educate conference delegates and visitors by creating a journey through healthcare services offered in Qatar.

“Attendees can receive information about the conference, including presenter biographies, select sessions, receive daily agenda updates, get details on networking events, use the fun social media function to share ideas and connect with others, and much more,” informed Nasser al-Naimi, deputy chief of quality and director of the Hamad Healthcare Quality Institute.

Dr Abdullatif al-Khal, deputy chief medical officer, director of Medical Education at HMC and ME Forum co-chair, said the Middle East Forum connects around 3,000 healthcare leaders and practitioners from around the globe, providing a stimulating and inspirational setting for healthcare professionals to meet, learn, and share knowledge with the collective aim to improve the quality and safety of care for the patients and communities they serve.
