“We believe that every individual has the inherent ability and the potential to learn, adapt and succeed in all environments. The success of any development process is primarily dependent on the individual. We also believe that Individuals are committed to their own growth by putting effort in learning, practicing and mastering the skills and knowledge ‘during’ and ‘after’ learning process. It is hence that we have identified ‘Individual’, ‘Integrity in Inquiry and Knowledge’ and ‘Innovation’ as key values of our organization” – LeAD Solutions – an organization run by Dr. Anuradha Rao that supports in the design, development and implementation of learning solutions for organizations and educational institutions.

Anuradha has close to three decades of experience in  the Human Resources domain. She has held several leadership positions with organizations  like GE, IBM, Mphasis, Genpact and Deutsche Bank. In 2012, she started LeAD Solutions. As its Director and Principal consultant, Anuradha has been associated with and consulted for  4 family run business’ and has worked with them to restructure their HR department and the implementation of HR policies and processes in their respective organizations.

Consulting with family run business requires the patience and the ability to reach out to each of the individual members of the family, work with them individually, identify the common ideological thread that binds them together and finally bring together a narrative that will not only support the growth of the organization; but also, adhere to the norms in the society that it operates. “You have to take everyone’s ideas and you have to make all the ideas work. This requires empathy, creativity and most importantly a great deal of discipline”… says Anuradha. “These projects take time and you need to have immense patience through the journey, and the courage to listen to and understand  all the ideas within a context, then plan out a strategy and influence the very people you listened to, to implement your recommendation.

Anuradha holds a PhD in English Literature from Central Institute of English and Foreign Languages, Hyderabad (now EFLU). Post getting her Doctorate, she climbed the corporate ladder in the field of Learning & Development and Human Resources. It was here that she worked with the business to develop and deploy strategically designed measures that would enhance employee performance. Today, as an entrepreneur, she supports various organizations deploying experiential learning practices that support the growth of the employees and thereby the team and thus the organization.

The most courageous thing to do is not to think for yourself, but to give voice to those thoughts. It is not easy. It requires one to at first wrestle with one’s anxieties and fears, then gain clarity on what you want and be convinced of it – Dr. Anuradha Rao

Reflecting on her career of 29 years, Anuradha comments, ‘The most courageous thing to do is not to think for yourself, but to give voice to those thoughts. It is not easy. It requires one to at first wrestle with one’s anxieties and fears, then gain clarity on what you want and be convinced of it. It is only after, that you can give voice to it. It is this process that we need to weave into our Leadership programs; especially for our women leaders.”
