Google Cloud expected to use artificial intelligence as a key to unlock more customers in the hyper-competitive cloud infrastructure landscape. Google, The tech giant is also assiting its clients develop AI models without them having to be experts through its AutoML Vision tool, which will now be available in public beta. “Google’s founders observe early on the power of AI and today it is built into everything Google does,” stated Diane Greene, CEO of Google Cloud, on the sidelines of Google Cloud Next 2018. “And now we’re incorporating the power of AI into everything you (clients) do.” While Google Cloud trails Amazon and Microsoft in the cloud infrastructure market, it has emerged as the leader in cloud AI services. And with AutoML available in public beta, its clients will be able to use Google’s machine-learning technology without having to type a single line of code. The company is also taking an AI-first approach for all its products including ‘search’ and ‘Gmail.’
“We want to bring the power of that approach to all (our clients), we want to make it possible for them(to apply) our advanced research to problems that matter to our customers,” told Google’s CEO Sundar Pichai, who made a surprise visit to the company’s cloud conference in San Francisco. The company is also using AI to upgrade its other offerings such as G Suite, which includes Gmail, Docs, and Drive, among others. Smart Compose, which ‘intelligently’ auto completes emails for consumers, will now be available for Google Cloud’s enterprise customers. Google has also added voice commands to Hangouts Meet hardware, which is used by enterprises to have video meetings at scale. Some of Google Cloud customers in India range from Hero Motocorp and HDFC Sales to startups such as vernacular social media platform ShareChat and logistics firm Delhivery.
